Tekirdag is one of the highest seismic risk provinces in Turkey, close to the Ganos Fault running along the southern Marmara. Its clay heavy coastal soils raise the risk of liquefaction during an earthquake, and the same ground has a high water retention capacity under normal conditions.
Rapid industrialisation in the region has made ground floor waterproofing a priority, particularly in warehouses and production facilities. In Tekirdag we develop projects that account for both earthquake scenarios and the water behaviour of clay soil.

At storage facilities in the wine growing area, moisture control is handled with particular care, because it directly affects product quality.
The three situations we meet most often in Tekirdağ
Moisture and salt along the shore. In settlements on the Marmara coast the sea brings moisture and salt together. Waterproofing here also protects against corrosion of the reinforcement.
Large roofs and floors on industrial buildings. Production facilities in the region have large roof and floor areas. On large roofs the consistent machine made welds of synthetic membrane are an advantage, and leak risk concentrates at detail points.
Flat inland ground and surface water. On the flat sections near the Ergene basin rainwater does not drain away on its own. Water collecting around the building approaches the foundation, and the solution begins with surface falls and the drainage arrangement.
What we look at during the survey
Distance to the sea and signs of salt attack, on industrial buildings the number of roof detail points and the condition of the existing membrane, inland the ground fall and the path surface water follows, discharge options and the capacity of existing lines.
